17 Nov 2000

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced that all Hong Kong residents who use their free notiFLY Flight Paging service by 30 November can enter a lucky draw to win 100,000 Asia Miles. There are also five second prizes of 15,000 Asia Miles, and 10 third prizes of 5,000 Asia Miles.

To enter, Hong Kong visitors to the Cathay Pacific Website www.cathaypacific.com must simply try out the free online notiFLY Flight Paging service. Further details of the lucky draw, including the terms and conditions, are available on the Website.

With 100,000 Asia Miles winners could take a Business Class roundtrip from Hong Kong to Los Angeles or London, or two seats in Business Class to Tokyo and back. Results of the lucky draw will be published on 22 December on the Cathay Pacific Website and in a number of local newspapers, namely Oriental Daily News, Ming Pao Daily, South China Morning Post, and Hong Kong iMail.

With notiFLY Flight Paging, travellers, and their friends and family, can have the latest flight information sent directly to their mobile phones or email accounts. Users can request that notiFLY Flight Paging messages be sent between one and four hours before a flight’s departure or arrival. A reminder email or SMS (short message service for mobile phones) will be sent to confirm the flight's timing. It can also warn if the flight will be early, or delayed by more than 30 minutes.

The Cathay Pacific Website was recently relaunched with an enhanced look and feel, easier navigation, and a number of innovative features. The redesign sees links to the most important information such as flight schedules now on the homepage for easier access. New features include improved online booking, real-time flight information, flight paging, and personal homepages for Asia Miles and Marco Polo Club members. Content is now in eight languages.

The Asia Miles lucky draw is part of Cathay Pacific's aim to become Asia's leading e-Business airline. The airline recently announced it would invest HK$2 billion on a range of e-Business projects to give its passengers greater choice and convenience.
