Cathay Pacific announces new express parcel service

Cathay Pacific Airways today officially launched a new express parcel service promising high-quality service and some of the quickest delivery times in the world. The new service is known as RPX, short for retail parcel express, and aims to deliver cargo between Hong Kong and the rest of Asia overnight, and to much of the rest of the world the next day. RPX comes in three tiers: RPX Platinum, RPX Gold, and RPX Silver.
The new RPX service is jointly provided by Cathay Pacific and a newly created Hong Kong company RPX Limited. Order-taking, customer service, local operations and billing are all handled by RPX, whilst Cathay Pacific concentrates on the flight operations for its 51 destination global network.
The top-tier, RPX Platinum, targets mission critical shipments such as vital documents, commercial prototypes, and essential electronic parts. Staff are available 24 hours a day to accompany the cargo on a flight. The fastest possible mode of transportation is used at each end and immediate confirmation is made on delivery. As an example, RPX recently collected computer parts at 2pm in Hong Kong and delivered them by 10pm the same day to a customer in Nagoya, Japan.
RPX Gold is specially designed to cover the major cities in Asia and North America. Packages are collected and delivered on the same day using the fastest means available. RPX Silver is aimed at everyday shipments which do not need the speed of RPX Platinum and RPX Gold, but nonetheless require convenient, reliable global delivery at value-for-money prices.

RPX is already proving very popular with business customers."

RPX Limited is wholly-owned by the Lenton Group, which specialises in providing express delivery, freight transportation and logistics services. Companies in the Lenton Group companies have been working with Cathay Pacific since 1989.
