Cathay Pacific cancels New York flights on Saturday and Sunday, passengers advised to check latest flight information

Cathay Pacific Airways announced that the following flights on Saturday (27 August) and Sunday (28 August) have been cancelled due to the closure of the John F Kennedy International Airport to all flights by all airlines and the approach of Hurricane Irene to New York.
Hong Kong to New York - 09:20 (27 August and 28 August)
Hong Kong to New York - 16:10 (27 August and 28 August)
Hong Kong to New York - 18:30 (27 August and 28 August)
New York to Hong Kong - 14:55 (27 August)
New York to Hong Kong - 01:20 (28 August)
New York to Hong Kong - 10:05 (28 August)
New York to Hong Kong - 14:55 (28 August)
New York to Hong Kong (via Vancouver) - 22:40 (28 August)
Vancouver to Hong Kong - 02:45 (29 August)
New York to Hong Kong - 01:20 (29 August)
Flights CX889 on 27 August and CX888 on 28 August will be operating between Hong Kong and Vancouver only and the sectors between Vancouver and New York will be cancelled.
"Based on the current forecast, we hope to resume normal service on Monday morning. However the situation may change rapidly and flights are still subject to cancellation/delay. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will post the latest flight information on our website, www.cathaypacific.com,” a Cathay Pacific spokesman said.
Passengers booked on the cancelled flights are advised not to go to the airport.
The airline will waive all rebooking and rerouting charges for Cathay Pacific tickets issued worldwide on or before 26 August 2011 for travel on Cathay Pacific with confirmed bookings involving New York between 26 August and 29 August 2011. Details are available at www.cathaypacific.com
