Cathay Pacific Airways today (Sunday, 7 November) announced that flights to and from Jakarta continue to be affected by the volcanic ash cloud resulting from the eruption of Mount Merapi.
In view of the situation, the following six flights have now been cancelled:
From Hong Kong to Jakarta
Two flights - CX777 and CX719 - delayed from yesterday (Saturday 6 November) and also CX777 scheduled to depart to Jakarta this morning (Sunday, 7 November).
From Jakarta to Hong Kong
CX776 delayed from yesterday (Saturday 6 November) and CX718 and CX776 originally scheduled to depart this morning (Sunday, 7 November).
The situation for the afternoon flights to and from Jakarta today (Sunday 7 November) is still being assessed, customers are advised to check the status of their flight at the airline’s website, www.cathaypacific.com, before departing for the airport.
Customers are also advised to input their contact details in the Manage My Booking function at the website to ensure they get the latest flight information via SMS or email.
Cathay Pacific will assist affected passengers with alternative arrangement. The airline will also waive all rebooking charge/reissuance fee for tickets issued worldwide on or before 6 November 2010 for travel involving destinations in Indonesia between 6 and 8 November 2010.
