Winner: Le Cinq, Paris, France
There’s nothing understated about Le Cinq , which garnered more than twice the votes of its distinguished runner-ups, Bodega El Capricho. Set within the palatial Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, this three-Michelin-starred gem has long been considered the pinnacle of French haute cuisine. Chef Christian Le Squer’s elegant prix fixe menu dazzles with dishes such as sea bass with caviar and buttermilk, and foie gras sculpted “like a pebble”, presented in a delicate broth.

Shortlisted nominees
Atomix, New York, US
Only the luckiest (or best-connected) diners can score a seat at the two-Michelin-starred Atomix , where contemporary Korean cuisine takes centre stage. Served at an intimate U-shaped chef’s counter (think omakase, Korean-style), chef Junghyun Park’s ever-evolving tasting menu often spotlights jang, makgeolli, and premium Korean-imported seafood or pork.
Bodega El Capricho, Jiménez de Jamuz (León), Spain
Meat lovers, welcome to the holy grail. Bodega El Capricho on Spain’s northern coast isn’t just a steakhouse – it’s a carnivore’s temple, famed for serving what many consider the best beef in the world. Rare-breed oxen are raised with obsessive care, dry-aged to perfection, and served in a cave-like sanctuary of fire, smoke and flavour.
The French Laundry, California, US
Warm and unpretentious yet meticulously precise, this three-Michelin-starred Napa Valley icon by chef Thomas Keller has reshaped American fine dining. Housed in a restored 19th-century stone farmhouse, The French Laundry offers a daily rotating menu rooted in the seasons, blending classic French technique with the vibrant bounty of California.

At the heart of Gangnam’s sleek dining scene, three-Michelin-starred Mingles redefines modern Korean cuisine with quiet confidence and an incredible eye for detail. Chef Kang Min-goo artfully fuses traditional flavours and ingredients with European finesse, crafting a multicourse journey in an understated, minimalist space where every bite resonates.
