The best festive menus in Hong Kong

Whether you’re looking for a traditional festive dinner with all the trimmings or something a little different this year, there’s something to suit every taste and budget below. The best part? Mr. Wolf 

Mr. Wolf’s bistro-style Christmas is sure to delight this year – with inventive menus across both lunch and dinner. While their festive lunch menu features less traditional dishes, such as a paneer butter masala curry, the three-course evening menu features all the traditional mainstays: roast chestnut and sherry soup, roast turkey breast served with duck fat roast potatoes, and – of course – a Christmas pudding to finish. Wash it all down with your drink of choice – there are two free-flow packages available.

The Globe

This Hong Kong institution is known for its hearty pies and roast dinners throughout the year. But at Christmas time, it really comes into its own. Gourmet mains on the festive menu include traditional honey-glazed Kelly Bronze turkey, roast Ashdale beef striploin, and a celeriac, apple and walnut roast for vegans. All come served with your favourite trimmings: pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, braised red cabbage, stuffing, and winter greens, followed by your choice of dessert.

Go all out

The Continental

Indulge in an elevated Christmas dinner this year at The Continental . With both traditional and more contemporary options to choose from at this al fresco favourite, there’s something to suit every taste. Opt for the pressed terrine of ham hock, gravadlax of organic salmon or fresh burrata to begin before moving on to mains, such as fillet of Australian beef, roast loin of Kinboshi pork or the organic Taiwanese pumpkin. Make sure you leave room for dessert: the pecan pie crème caramel is a fan favourite – although you can’t go wrong with their homemade Christmas pudding.

Kilo Steakhouse

For a truly extravagant Christmas dinner, head to Kilo Steakhouse , located in K11 Musea with breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong skyline. The food created here by Chef Nathan Green and his team is nothing short of spectacular. Choose from a variety of starters, such as a smoky bluefin tuna tartare, a classic steak tartare, or burrata with fire-roasted tomatoes, before moving on to one of four mains (we highly recommend the Kuro M7+ grain-fed American Wagyu tenderloin), all of which come served with seasonal sides, such as potato purée and chargrilled corn. Finish with something sweet: crêpes suzette with vanilla ice cream.

Jingle all the way 

Lucciola

Enjoy Christmas the Italian way at Lucciola . Found within The Hari, this charming Italian restaurant helmed by Chef Francesco Gava is serving both brunch and dinner this holiday season. You’ll be welcomed with an aperitivo at the bar, followed by a variety of hot and cold starters, such as la burrata Pugliese and a cold seafood platter, then a choice of five mains – the sea bass all’acqua pazza and lobster chittara pasta are very popular. And when the dessert cart comes around, it’s hard to resist squeezing in something sweet. For those looking to make things a little merrier, there are various free-flow options available. Saluti!

With its harbourside location and plush interior, Fortnum & Mason’s 181 restaurant is the perfect spot for a festive feast. The restaurant excels at elevated modern and traditional British food, and this year’s  Christmas tasting menu ticks all the boxes. Start with spiced parsnip soup, wagyu tartare or honey and roasted cashew glazed pork belly  before moving to your main: the famous Kelly Bronze turkey or succulent 30-day dry aged rib of beef. Complete the feast with an F&M King George Christmas pudding served with brandy cream or a chocolate and orange torte with a cup of your favourite Fortnum and Mason tea.
