Dragonair today unveiled its revamped inflight magazine, Silkroad. With a whole new look and editorial approach, Silkroad demonstrates the “Life Well Travelled” spirit in the World’s Best Regional Airline which aims to create a better travel experience for passengers across their whole journey.
The new Silkroad magazine reflects the energy and excitement of exploring contemporary China and the spirit of the age across Asia. Focusing on innovation, the people at the forefront of new trends, and how to travel smarter, the new Silkroad aims to offer entertaining and informative content to readers in an intelligent way. It is a new insider guide for intriguing travel around the region.
The new Silkroad is committed to offer original, inspiring writing from respected local and international contributors. It contains sections such as Extreme Itineraries, which challenges readers to pack in as many experiences as possible into their trips; The Mystery Of, which unravels the unresolved conundrums of Asia, one landmark at a time; and Tales from the Silk Road, featuring stories and insights from the ancient Silk Road. Silkroad has also been updated visually, using bold and original photography to create an evocative and inspiring link between the stories and the reader.
Silkroad’s entertainment guide is also enriched with new content. It features insights from experts and critics into the onboard entertainment, and an easily navigable guide to the movies, TV shows and music being featured. Among the section highlights are Essential Scenes, showcasing some not-to-be-missed scenes from onboard films; Movie Mood Guide, recommending movies according to passengers’ mood; and World Film Club, in which critics and experts offer insights into inspiring arthouse movies.
In celebration of the revamp, Silkroad features two special marquee stories in the July issue: an exploration of the ambitious plans for the new Silk Road; and Asia’s 100 Ultimate Experiences, a showcase of the greatest travel inspirations across the region. A social media competition is being run from 1 to 14 July, inviting readers to submit their own ultimate Asian experience, tying in with the Asia’s 100 Ultimate Experience feature. Readers who upload an image and description of their experience to Facebook or Instagram, with the hashtag #DragonairSilkroad, will have a chance to win a special poster print of their entry, while the overall winner will be featured in the September Silkroad.
