Faster security screening for eligible passengers flying from the U.S.

Latest update: 22 Nov 2017 14:30 HKT (GMT+8)

From 1 November 2017, eligible passengers travelling on Cathay Pacific flights from Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Newark, New York or San Francisco can enjoy expedited traveller screening through Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security checkpoints under the TSA PreCheck programme.

Eligible passengers can use dedicated screening lanes and do not need to remove shoes, belts or jackets, or take out laptops and liquids from bags, as required in standard screening.

Eligibility for TSA PreCheck
You are eligible for TSA PreCheck when flying with us if:

  • You are a US citizen or lawful permanent resident who has applied for TSA PreCheck.
  • You have been approved by a US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) trusted traveller programme (Global Entry, SENTRI or NEXUS) to participate in TSA PreCheck, which is open to citizens from the following countries: Singapore, Colombia, Germany, Netherlands, Panama, South Korea, Mexico, and the UK.

For more information on TSA PreCheck and how to apply, please visit the TSA website.

Travelling on Cathay Pacific with TSA PreCheck
To be verified for TSA PreCheck, you will need to register your nine-digit PASS ID issued by CBP when booking your flight or during check-in:

  • Online booking: enter your PASS ID in the “Known traveler number” field in the Secure Flight Program section under Manage Booking.
  • Online or airport check-in: enter your PASS ID in the “Known traveler number” field in the Travel Documents section if checking in online, or provide your PASS ID to staff at the check-in counter.

Details for your flight booking (full name, date of birth and gender) must be an exact match to the information provided to CBP at time of enrolment.

If verified, you will see “TSA PreCheck” printed on your boarding pass or indicated on your mobile boarding pass.

As one of only ten non-US airlines to participate in the TSA PreCheck programme, we hope to provide a more seamless travel experience for our customers.
