Submitting a bid
You will only be charged by Cathay Pacific if your offer is accepted. Cathay Pacific does not charge any booking fees or card fees for making an offer. However, your bank may charge you if the currency of your offer is not the same currency as your bank account. Please note that we require your credit card details at the time you make your offer for standard verification purposes.
Yes. Each flight has minimum and maximum assigned offer amount and your offer must be within this range. The Offer page has a gauge indicating offer strength, which advises the likelihood that your offer will be accepted, subject to established criteria. The gauge is to be used as a guide, not confirmation that your offer will be accepted.
If there’s additional taxes and fuel surcharges for the upgrade, this will be shown clearly when you make your offer. The taxes and surcharges difference will be payable on top of your submitted offer.
Flight sectors are considered independent of one another. If you wish to upgrade a journey with multiple sectors, you can make a separate, single offer to upgrade each sector individually. If you do not want to upgrade one of your sectors, simply move the offer slider to the far left to indicate "No Offer" for that sector.
The offer window closes 50 hours prior to departure of the first sector of your journey. You may revise or cancel your offer at any time 50 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time.
Yes. If there are multiple passengers in a booking, the offer amount will be multiplied by the number of passengers including children in the booking. If your upgrade is accepted, all passengers will be upgraded. If you wish to make an offer separately, you will have to contact our contact centre and request for the booking to be split. Otherwise, all passengers in the same booking have to be upgraded together.
Yes. You can modify your offer by clicking on the link in your confirmation email, or by visiting the Upgrade Bid Welcome Page up to 50 hours prior to the departure time of your flight.
You will only be charged if your offer is successful. Successful offers will be selected and you will be informed no later than 2 days prior to the departure date of your flight, unless where technical issues arise and require manual handling by Cathay Pacific, at which you may only find out about the results 1 day prior to departure.
