Canes & Tales , a new bar inspired by the glamour of the 1930s, has opened at the Waldorf Astoria Osaka. An ornate wall design of latticed canes is an elegant flourish, complementing the jewel-toned decor and plush seating that define this sophisticated venue. Each of the 11 short stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Tales of the Jazz Age (1922) has been reimagined as a cocktail, such as the Jemina, made with butter-washed Michter’s US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon, mitarashi syrup and chocolate bitters.
This month, Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Caprice , its acclaimed three-Michelin-starred restaurant. Until 30 September, there’ll be a Caprice pastry pop-up at Gallery in the hotel’s lobby, featuring tarts by pastry chef Astoria Koh in three delectable flavours. The festivities continue with an exclusive dinner series from 18 to 20 September, when executive chef Guillaume Galliot will be joined by 15 renowned guest chefs, bringing a combined total of 23 Michelin stars to the table for an unforgettable fine dining experience over three nights.
Maison Margiela ’s track-and-field-inspired Sprinters return this autumn in bold new shades: dark green, oxblood, yellow and light blue. First introduced in the Spring/Summer 2025 Avant-Première Collection, the Italian-made trainers reflect the French fashion house’s iconoclastic spirit with a streamlined retro silhouette, spiked rubber soles and hand-finished vintage treatments.
Cult favourite gin bar Dr Fern ’s returns with volume II – The Doctor’s Residence – a surrealist speakeasy hidden inside The Pottinger Hotel . Expect complex cocktails, eccentric G&Ts and umami bites served in a retro-chic 1970s townhouse. With more than 400 gins, a leafy terrace and satirical prescriptions, this spirit-driven surgery is fully open and ready to treat the chronically curious. Whether you’re sipping jellyfish martinis or decoding mushroom foam, The Doctor’s Residence invites you to indulge in a little clinical absurdity.
