THE BRIDGE – Home Away From Home

Main Lounge

Overview

The Bridge is the sixth Cathay Pacific lounge at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), offering an exclusive and relaxing space for Cathay Pacific passengers. The Bridge – a 2,567 square-metre space designed by London-based architectural firm Foster + Partners – is located at Level 5, West Concourse at HKIA, ideally situated for passengers exiting the terminal passenger train near gate 35.

Long Bar

The design intent of The Bridge is that of a residential space, and to this end the new lounge features warm colours, timber flooring and luxurious carpet, with the overall impression reminiscent of a living room environment, with natural sunlight filtering through the floor to ceiling windows.

Black granite and oak slat walls marry with black tiles and oak timber to create a warm and inviting environment. Burnished brass panels and aerofoil louvres, together with bronze walls accentuate the understated elegance in the dining and bar areas, while the use of Corian claddings adds a touch of modern simplicity to the lounge.

The Bakery

Features

The Bridge consists of North and South wings, each extending from the central Reception area. The North Wing features The Bakery, which offers freshly baked bread and pizzas, as well as sandwiches, pastries, Asian and Western soups, and fresh salads. The North Wing also features the airline’s iconic Long Bar together with a television lounge and general seating area.

The South Wing features The Bistro, a self-service area where passengers can enjoy a variety of high-quality Asian and Western hot dishes and cold food selections, including delicious desserts and light leafy salads. At the Coffee Loft, passengers are treated to freshly brewed coffee and specialty tea, accompanied by freshly baked muffins, pastries and cookies.

Each of the shower suites located in The South Wing features a spacious shower, providing a calm, relaxing and private sanctuary in which passengers can freshen up before their journey.

In The IT Zone, passengers can stay in touch and entertained with facilities like high speed wi-fi and iMac

Seating Areas

Design Elements

Each of the two main seating areas features two display cabinets, tastefully curated with books and artefacts on one side, while the other side showcases artworks created by William Furniss, a Hong Kong based artist specialising in abstract water photography.

The two sculptures at the entrance to both the North and South wings are designed and handcrafted by Charlotte Mayer, a UK based artist, mainly specialising in cast bronze sculptures. These sculptures express the dynamic spirit that is embedded in the Cathay Pacific culture, and are an expression of Cathay Pacific as a modern, progressive, and innovative airline.

Reception

The Bridge continues to feature the familiar luminous reception wall, made of Venetian glass tiles by Fabbian of Italy. Two layers of tiles backlit from the top and bottom create an abstract visual impression of bamboo, personifying the grace of Asian elegance. The reception wall, together with the impressive white Carrara marble reception counter, spanning 14 metres, provide the perfect backdrop for our warm and friendly staff as they greet our passengers upon arrival.

Opening Hours

The Bridge opens from 5:30am until the last departure.

The Bridge is a premium lounge for both First and Business Class passengers, The Marco Polo Club members (silver tier and above), and oneworld members (Sapphire and above).
