Cathay Pacific delays Japan flights this morning, advises passengers to check latest flight information

Cathay Pacific Airways announced that flights to Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya have been delayed this morning due to volcanic ash from Volcano Kirishimayama in Japan which erupted earlier today (Monday).
The flights affected include three flights to Tokyo - CX504, CX548 and CX520 - and one flight CX506 to Osaka. In addition, CX450 from Hong Kong to Tokyo via Taipei and CX530 from Hong Kong to Nagoya via Taipei will also be delayed in Taipei.
The departure time of these flights and the status of the afternoon flights from Hong Kong to Japan, including CX500 and CX542 to Tokyo, CX502 and CX564 (from Taipei) to Osaka, and CX532 to Nagoya, will be updated later this afternoon.
Passengers for flights to Japan are advised to not to go to the airport until the status of these flights today are confirmed. We are closely monitoring the development and will be assessing the situation as more information becomes available.
