Dragonair to Recruit More Cabin Crew to Meet Operational Needs

29 Aug 2010

(HONG KONG) Dragonair announced today that it will recruit another 50 cabin crew for its professional team in order to match manpower needs with recent flight enhancements and the continued growth of the airline. The latest recruitment exercise is in addition to a recruitment day the airline held in June.

A walk-in interview session will be held on 13 September at Dragonair House, adjacent to Hong Kong International Airport. Registration will begin at 9:00am and the interviews will be conducted on a first-come-first-served basis, subject to a quota of 1,200 applicants. (See Appendix for the recruitment advertisement.)

“People are Dragonair’s biggest asset and the key to our success. We care for our staff and it is our goal to provide them with a good working environment together with the support they need. By recruiting another 50 cabin crew we hope to increase the flexibility of manpower arrangements in light of our recent business growth, at the same time ensuring we continue to provide professional, world-class service to our passengers,” said Cecilia Leung, Dragonair General Manager Inflight Services.

Successful candidates will begin a comprehensive seven-week training programme in November that will equip them with the knowledge and skills needed for the Flight Attendant role - including service procedures, safety, security, food and beverage, and aircraft knowledge - to help them deliver the consistently high level of service for which Dragonair is renowned.

“We were very encouraged by the overwhelming response to the recruitment day we held in June, and we believe the upcoming event will enable us to recruit more high-calibre candidates with the right level of passion and commitment,” Ms Leung added.

A total of 72 cabin crew were recruited in June and are now going through intensive training. They are expected to begin inflight duties starting from October this year.
