Dragonair Recruits Cabin Crew to Join its Professional Team

(HONG KONG) Dragonair has announced it is looking to recruit around 50 cabin crew to join its award-winning team as the airline continues to grow.

A walk-in interview session will be held on 22 June at Dragonair House. Registration will start at 9:00am and the interviews will be conducted on a first-come-first-served basis, subject to a quota of 1,200 applicants. (See Appendix for the recruitment advertisement)

“Dragonair is well known for its service excellence and we are looking for high calibre applicants who have a passion for service and would contribute to the further success of the company,” said Dragonair General Manager Inflight Services Cecilia Leung.

“Being the main point of contact for passengers inflight, Dragonair cabin crew not only deliver world-class service, but also demonstrate a high level of professionalism in ensuring cabin safety and security as well as an enjoyable travel experience for all our passengers,” Cecilia added.

Successful applicants will be recruited as Flight Attendants and will go through comprehensive training to acquire a thorough knowledge of various aspects including service procedures, safety, security, grooming, food and beverage and aircraft knowledge.

Dragonair offers good career development and advancement opportunities to its cabin crew. With accumulation of experience and skills, some are given the opportunity to attain senior positions such as Senior Purser and Chief Purser. And apart from working inflight, cabin crew also have the opportunity to take up various ground functions such as training, administration and even escalate to management positions.

The recruitment session is being held in response to the airline's recent expansion. With the continuous upsurge in demand, Dragonair is adding frequency or capacity to a number of routes.

More than 10 flights per week to Shanghai will be upgraded from July onwards, while flights to popular destinations such as Wuhan, Kaohsiung, Kota Kinabalu, Busan and Phuket will be increased in the summer peak. Meanwhile, another two A320 aircraft will be joining the fleet in the third quarter.

  • Hong Kong permanent resident holding a passport with the right to live and work in Hong Kong indefinitely
  • Educated to HKCEE standard or equivalent with a pass in English (Syllabus B)
  • Fluency in English and Cantonese is required, Mandarin preferred
  • Knowledge of other Asian languages and dialects is an added advantage
  • Minimum arm-reach of 212cm
  • Previous experience in the service industry is preferred but not essential
