Penang International Airport can be found in the southeast of Penang in Bayan Lepas, and serves as the main airport for travel in the north of Malaysia. As Malaysia's third busiest airport, expect good facilities, including shops, duty free, restaurants, car rental and currency exchange. From the airport, passengers can take a number of buses that operate to different destinations, including George Town (the state capital), which is around 45 minutes away.
Penang has been voted one of the top 50 must-visit destinations in the world, and when you glimpse the palm-fringed sugar-white beaches and tropical interior, it's not hard to see why. George Town boasts UNESCO Heritage Status, with its striking colonial style architecture. If you're looking for lively nightlife, head to Upper Penang Road. A cable car ride up to Penang Hill provides stunning vistas, or, if you're feeling active, you could trek up through the lush rainforest. A visit to the tropical butterfly farm in Teluk Bahang should also feature during your stay, while lazy days can be spent on any number of beaches, including the scenic Batu Ferringhi Beach.See More
