Why do I need to pay to reserve a regular seat?
This is a service for customers travelling on Economy ‒ with fare class S, N, Q, O, X (excluding Economy Essential fares and Economy Flex fares#) or Economy Light fares, who are otherwise not eligible to reserve their preferred seats in advance of check-in.
Customers can reserve their preferred seats for an additional fee up to 48 hours before departure.
However, it is free when customers:
- Travel with a child or infant in the same booking
- Travel with a Marco Polo Club Silver member* or above in the same booking and ticket issued on the same fare type (if applicable)
- Are a oneworld frequent flyer (Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald)
Please note that reservation is complimentary once online check-in is open within 48 hours of your flight's departure.
