Prepaid extra baggage
Prepaid extra baggage cannot be purchased for the following booking/ticket types:
- On hold booking
- Group booking (GIT)
- Staff booking (ID/AD tickets)
- Ticket issued by other airlines
- Infant without a seat
Asia Miles points cannot be used to redeem "Prepaid extra baggage".
Only normal rate baggage allowance can be redeemed by Asia Miles. The number of Asia Miles required depends on your travel distance. Please contact us at our member services hotline at least 10 working days before your flight departure. For flights departing from Hong Kong, you can also go to our service desk to redeem for your extra baggage allowance. View the details in our Baggage Information.
Please note that prepaid extra baggage is non-transferrable and non-reroutable. If you change the date or time of your flight within your booking online, you’ll need to contact your local reservations office or Global Contact Centre to transfer your prepaid extra baggage purchase to your new flight.
Please note that if you take less baggage than the amount of prepaid baggage purchased, the unused portion is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Yes, you can share the allowance among your travel companions who are booked under same booking reference. Please note that you will need to check-in together with your travel companions in order to enjoy the shared allowance.
Yes, you can use self-service bag drop at airports where it is available.
Please go to the kiosk to check in and print your boarding pass and baggage tag, then proceed to the bag drop counter. If you have already completed online check-in, print your baggage tag at the kiosk and proceed to the bag drop counter. Please view our airport self-service page for details on participating airports.
