How much does it cost?
Due to our reduced flight schedule, we are unable to accept new bookings for pets travelling as check-in baggage from 15 June 2022 until further notice.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Alternatively, you may transport your pet with Cathay Pacific Cargo.

If your pet is travelling as check-in baggage, the transportation fee is not covered by your free baggage allowance.
Pets travelling as check-in baggage is only available on Cathay Pacific direct flights departing from Hong Kong.
As not all countries accept pets travelling as check-in baggage, please contact Customer Care to confirm your pet can travel this way.
Calculating costs
To calculate transportation costs:
- Check if your flight route will measure bags by piece (PC) or weight (K) in your ticket itinerary

Once you have established which zone your flight covers, please refer to the below table to calculate the cost of transporting your pet. This is determined by the total weight of the pet and its container.

Flight route charges by piece
Baggage charges for carriage of an accompanied pet will be assessed based on the total weight and size of the pet and its container.
The below table outlines charges for when the total weight and size of the pet and its container is within 23kg (50lbs) and 158 cm (62in).

If the total weight/size of the pet and its container is heavier than 23kg (50lbs) or larger than 158cm (62in), you may be charged an additional fee.
For a pet and its container weighing between 23kg (50lbs) to 32kg (70lbs) and below 158cm (62in) in size.

For the pet and its container up to 203cm (80in), and below 23kg (50lbs), additional charge of USD200 per piece.
If the total weight of the pet and its container exceeds 32kg (70lbs), and/or the total dimension exceeds 203cm (80 in), you will be charged four times the extra baggage charge (per piece).
Fees are collected in the equivalent local currency.
