Much has been written about the correlation between exercise and mental health, with a recent study by the University of South Australia revealing that physical activity was extremely effective at “improving symptoms of depression, anxiety and distress.” While working out is typically at the top of everyone’s resolutions list, try exercising with your mental health in mind this coming year. A study conducted in 2022 found that excessive mobile phone usage negatively affected the physical and mental health of people, which could in turn exacerbate “the risk of depression and anxiety .” Spend less time online and more in the moment by pouring your energy into a hobby or simply getting out into the great outdoors.
