We’ve committed to using SAF for 10% of Cathay Pacific Airways’ jet fuel consumption by 2030.
We continue to add more fuel-efficient aircraft to our fleet, including the Airbus A350 and A321neo, which are more than 20% more efficient than the aircraft they replace.
In 2014 we became the first airline investors in Fulcrum BioEnergy, which produces SAF from landfill waste. We launched Asia's first major corporate SAF programme in 2022.
We’ve surpassed our target to halve single-use plastics by removing nearly 200 million items by the end of 2022: that’s a 56 per cent reduction per passenger since 2018.
In 2022, we diverted 367 tonnes of inconsumable food waste from landfill and sent it to O∙PARK1 in Hong Kong for energy recovery.
We donated 114 tonnes of surplus food to our charitable partners in 2022.
