Welcome to the results of the first Marco Polo Club Members’ Choice Awards.

Marco Polo Club, the loyalty programme for Cathay Pacific’s most frequent fliers, is one of the world’s most elite programmes, representing premium travellers from around the globe. Its members, split across Green, Silver, Gold and Diamond tiers, are a well-travelled group: more than half of Gold and Diamond members visit North America and Europe at least once a year on average, while almost a third of Diamond members fly to China more than 10 times every year.

It’s why we asked this elite group of travellers to vote on the best in travel: their favourite hotels, travel products and holiday destinations of choice around the world.

To refine the thousands of possible choices, we formed a shortlist for Marco Polo Club members to vote on. To do this, we asked a leading group of travel editors and industry experts to suggest their favourite hotels, travel products and destinations.

That shortlist was put to Marco Polo Club members in an email survey. Tens of thousands voted on their favourite travel choices for two weeks during March.

Here, we reveal the results of the first Marco Polo Club Members’ Choice Awards:
