“Hold Your Fare” is the option and service provided by Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon to allow customer to put Cathay Pacific and/or Cathay Dragon flight bookings on hold on the terms and conditions set out herein.
"Hold Your Fare" is only available for bookings made on the Cathay Pacific official website.
The applicable holding period (“Holding Period”) for a "Hold Your Fare" is 72 hours, once the booking is confirmed.
When "Hold Your Fare" is selected, the flight fare will be fixed for the Holding Period, however, taxes, fees, and carrier surcharges are subject to change.
The fixed flight fare under "Hold Your Fare" will expire, and no longer be valid or effective, after the expiry of the Holding Period.
Valid credit card information must be given at the time Hold your fare is selected.
The fee chargeable for "Hold Your Fare" (“Fee”) will not be charged at the time of selecting "Hold Your Fare". The Fee will only be charged when the applicable flight booking is not completed within the Holding Period.
The Fee is non-transferable and non-refundable.
The Fee is charged for each and every "Hold Your Fare" selected. The Fee may vary depending on the flights and departures from different destinations.
Marco Polo Club members can hold their booking for 72 hours without any fees, provided that the member has signed in with a valid membership number before booking a flight on www.cathaypacific.com.
"Hold Your Fare" is only available for flights departing at least 168hours (7 days) or more after "Hold Your Fare" option has been selected.
"Hold Your Fare" is not available for certain countries, special offers, hotel bookings, packages booking, and bookings for Asia Miles flight awards. Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon have the sole and absolute discretion on whether or not "Hold Your Fare" is available for any flight, package or booking.
If "Hold Your Fare" has been selected, other related products including advanced seat reservations and travel insurance will not be applicable at that time. Those other products where applicable may be added to the booking after you have completed the booking and purchased the flights.
Once "Hold Your Fare" is selected, the relevant flight ticket(s) under it (including all details recorded in respect of each ticket) cannot be changed in any way. For example, if "Hold Your Fare" is for two passengers of the same flight, completing payment (nor any change of name or travel dates) for just one out of the two flight tickets will not be permitted, and will be deemed to be a cancellation of the booking with "Hold Your Fare" option, in which case the fee will be payable in full.
No changes may be made on a flight booking (including travel dates, travel itinerary or passenger names) under "Hold Your Fare". If any change is required to be made on such flight booking a completely new booking is required and the Fee will be charged.
If a "Hold Your Fare" is selected in the United States at least seven days before the departure time of the first sector and cancelled through “Manage Booking” on the Cathay Pacific official website: (i) within 24 hours from the time of selecting "Hold Your Fare", the Fee will not be charged; or (ii) after the 24 hours from the time of selecting "Hold Your Fare", the Fee will be charged and will not be refunded.
If during the period when you have put your fare on hold, Cathay Pacific or Cathay Dragon have to reschedule or cancel the relevant flight, we will notify you via email or SMS. In that case, you will be entitled to cancel the "Hold Your Fare" and no Fee will be charged.
All applicable ticket fare, taxes and service fees will be charged only when you confirm the booking and complete the payment for the relevant flight ticket.
Please contract our local reservations office if you have any technical problems with Booking on Hold.
Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon reserve the right to adjust the amount of the Fee and revise these terms and conditions at any time without notice.
In case of any discrepancy between the English version and any translated version of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
