Cathay Pacific media statement

17 Mar 2011

In response to media enquires, a Cathay Pacific spokesperson said:

"We are pleased that the Court of Appeal upheld the Court of First Instance ruling that cabin crew outport allowance is not ‘wages’ under the Employment Ordinance. This decision provides legal certainty regarding the provisions of the ordinance and we are pleased that this has been clarified. However, we are disappointed with the decision on other aspects of the ruling which we will be seeking legal advice and consider our next step."
