26 Aug 2011

Cathay Pacific Airways today (Friday, 26 August) is asking passengers who have booked flights to and from New York from Sunday through Monday, or who are planning to do so, to postpone their travel due to the approach of Hurricane Irene to the city. The airline is planning for normal operations to and from New York on Saturday.

The airline will waive all rebooking and rerouting charges for Cathay Pacific tickets issued worldwide on or before 26 August 2011 for travel on Cathay Pacific with confirmed bookings involving New York between 26 August and 29 August 2011. Details are available at www.cathaypacific.com

“We are closely monitoring the situation and will post the latest flight information on our website, www.cathaypacific.com,” a Cathay Pacific spokesman said.

Customers are advised to enter their contact details in the Manage My Booking function on the website to ensure they receive the latest flight updates via SMS or email.
