Extra-legroom seat bookings

Passengers can book an Extra-legroom Seat online or by calling our Reservations Office after ticket issuance, up to 24 hours before flight departure, or when checking in at our counters*.

Extra-legroom Seats are assigned for an additional charge to eligible passengers on a first-come, first-served basis on flights operated by Cathay Pacific Airways and Cathay Dragon.

Cathay Pacific Airways and Cathay Dragon have the sole discretion, at check-in or boarding, to determine whether a passenger meets the requirements to sit on an Extra-legroom Seat If he or she does not meet any one of the stated safety requirements, Cathay Pacific may re-assign a regular Economy seat before or during the journey without refund of the Extra-legroom Seat reservation fees.

Yes. Seat maps are available on Travel Information > Flights > Aircraft & Fleet. An Extra-legroom Seat is assigned only upon full payment of the Extra-legroom Seat fees and fare.

No mileage points are rewarded for the amount paid for an Extra-legroom Seat.

There will be no refund of the Extra-legroom Seat fees if, in accordance with the fare rules of your ticket, you choose to move to a different flight, cancel your flight or make other voluntary flight changes.

It is refundable if the Extra-legroom Seat is not utilised because

  • the flight is disrupted,
  • the flight is cancelled, or
  • the connecting flight from an inbound or/and outbound Cathay Pacific Airways and Cathay Dragon operated flight is missed because of flight re-timing.

Cathay Pacific Airways and Cathay Dragon will refund you the additional charge paid for the Extra-legroom Seat. Refund will be in the original form of payment within 1 month.
