A spread of Chez Choux’s cream puffs featuring various flavours, from chocolate to fruit.

Chez Choux

This Japanese-style pastry chain marries pillowy puff pastry with a sweet cream filling that comes in an assortment of ever-changing flavours. Lining the shelves of its 10-plus branches in Hong Kong are freshly baked and delicately dusted cream puffs, which fill the air with their delightful buttery aroma. Flavours are inspired by Japan’s seasonal produce; look out for specials like the mango yoghurt puff, featuring slices of juicy mango and a generous dollop of cream, alongside regular favourites such as the custard puff: a light, flaky shell brimming with a rich, vanilla-tinged filling.

A pizza from Paper Moon rests on a plate, topped with greens and truffle.

Paper Moon

At this waterfront Italian restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui’s Harbour City, tuck into forkfuls of pancetta-laced pappardelle pasta and slices of freshly baked porcini pizza next to 270-degree panoramic views of Victoria Harbour. Paper Moon is an offshoot of the original fine dining restaurant in Milan, landing in Hong Kong in 2017 as Asia’s first branch. To honour the establishment’s Italian roots and ensure authenticity, culinary heads personally came to train staff in Hong Kong and even arranged for an Ambrogi pizza oven to be imported from Italy.

The Prosperity Chicken, available at 10 Shanghai, is set aflame in a clay shell.

10 Shanghai

Gold-accented walls and jade-green upholstery give a moody, retro vibe to this restaurant specialising in Huaiyang cuisine, one of the four great Chinese culinary traditions. Celebrating its move to Lee Garden Three in Causeway Bay, 10 Shanghai has launched a series of new dishes that include the delectable Prosperity Chicken. The chicken is stuffed and baked in a casing of lotus leaf, tin foil and clay. Once hardened, the casing is shattered tableside, revealing the tender chicken within. As a final flourish, the meat is flambéed with ZHEN liquor before diners tuck in.
