How to make the most of Hong Kong Sevens 2024

It’s that time of the year in Hong Kong again – when rugby fans and revellers congregate in their most creative costumes to deliver their best chants. The Hong Kong Rugby Sevens is the city’s biggest and most anticipated sporting event of the year; it sees 12 of the best rugby teams worldwide compete across three electrifying days, as part of a 12-stop world rugby seven series. This year, the tournament runs from 5 to 7 April.

Whether you want to cheer on your favourite team or simply soak up the electric ambience, you won’t leave Hong Kong Stadium disappointed. You can also look forward to a variety of other activities both in the run-up to and during the event, including the chance to collect exclusive Hong Kong Sevens pins.

The 2024 iteration of the Hong Kong Sevens will celebrate three decades of adrenaline-filled excitement at the iconic Hong Kong Stadium– both on and off the pitch. This year’s event will pay special homage to the city's distinctive cultural traditions.

Whether you’re going to the Sevens or not, you can enjoy a day at Hysan Place's open-air complex and visit our Hong Kong Sevens pop-up from 29 March to 7 April.  

At our game booth, roll the giant dice and show off your best cheering moves to win an exclusive branded Rugby Sevens badge or a cheering finger souvenir; or have fun taking photos with our Hong Kong Sevens props and backdrops. There's something fun for everyone. 

Showcase your best costumes at our photo booth 

Aside from the action on the pitch, one of the highlights of the Hong Kong Sevens is seeing rugby fans in their most extravagant costumes, passionately chanting from the stands; think wild wigs, adults in tutus and variations of Mario costumes. 

Create unforgettable memories with your family and friends at our in-stadium booth. Have fun striking a pose with photo props at our Hong Kong Sevens-dedicated backdrop or enter our games to win special prizes.

Beat the Scrum

Fancy earning a limited-edition collectable  badge to remind you of your time at Hong Kong Rugby Sevens? Keep your eyes peeled for our Rugby Ball Mascots roving the stadium and beat them in a game of rock-paper-scissors to win one. Each pin has a tale to tell from the tournament's 30 years at the Hong Kong Stadium. 

Complete your Hong Kong Sevens badge collection

Meet the Rugby Ball Mascots, helping fans complete their Hong Kong Rugby Sevens badge collections. They'll be roaming the stands ready to take your spare badges in exchange for ones you're missing from your collection. 

Take home a token of this momentous event and show off your growing collection at the games or on social media to start a conversation. You can trade badges with fellow collectors too.  

Where to eat

The party doesn’t end when the final whistle blows. You’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to Hong Kong’s vibrant nightlife areas. There are numerous bars and dining spots to explore post-tournament. 

Walk down to Causeway Bay's Hennesey Road and Tang Lung Street for a lineup of culinary delights – or follow the rowdier throngs to Lockhart Road for another round of beers at its many buzzing bars. For an evening meal away from the crowds, take the Star Ferry across the harbour to Tsim Sha Tsui.
