(Vancouver, B.C.) - Cathay Pacific is welcoming applications for the fifth iteration of the successful “I Can Fly” Vancouver program which invites young Canadians with a true passion for aviation on a unique educational adventure. Interested Grade 11 high school students may submit applications online at www.cathaypacific.ca/icanfly on or before 11 March 2013.
The “I Can Fly” Vancouver 2013 program will run from April through May and give high school students a comprehensive and hands-on look at the airline industry.
Guided entirely by dedicated Cathay Pacific staff volunteers, the 8-week academy covers a range of aviation topics and allows a group of classmates to learn various aspects from flight operations to inflight services and engineering. These real-world settings have shown to provide invaluable perspective for young students who are preparing to make choices in post-secondary education and their careers.
The “I Can Fly” program was launched in 2003 in Cathay Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong and due to its success brought to Canada for the first time in October 2009.
The program runs weekly and operates after school hours out of Vancouver International Airport, its vicinity or within downtown Vancouver. For further details or to apply to the “I Can Fly” Vancouver 2013 program, please visit www.cathaypacific.ca/icanfly.
