Flights to/from Japan and Hong Kong

Regrettably, the Japanese government continues to mandate a limit on the maximum number of flights each carrier can operate from Hong Kong SAR to Japan.
As a result, we can only operate 72 flights per week into Japan, which is 13-15 flights per week less than what was originally planned and approved by the regulatory authorities for February to March 2023.
Looking ahead, we intend to resume five return flights per week to Nagoya from 31 March. As the total number of flights originally planned in April and May is similar to the maximum number of flights that we are permitted to operate by the Japanese authorities from Hong Kong SAR to six airports in Japan, we anticipate minimal disruption to our flight schedule in April and May.
To comply with the latest restrictions, Cathay Pacific must cancel the following flights between Hong Kong and Japan from 3 February to 30 March 2023:

For customers affected by the flight cancellations:
Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka customers will be transferred onto other available flights. Nagoya customers will be transferred onto Osaka flights. Flights to and from Sapporo will operate as scheduled.

We have started rebooking all affected customers onto other flights available.
Customers will receive an email with their new flight details. They can also be viewed in Manage Booking. Customers are requested to ensure they have provided us with their most up-to-date contact details.
