Dragonair Cancels Flights to and from Busan Tomorrow due to Impact of Severe Typhoon Bolaven

(Hong Kong) Dragonair today (Monday, 27 August) announced that based on the latest forecast for Severe Typhoon Bolaven, flights to and from Busan in South Korea will be cancelled on Tuesday, 28 August. As of now, the airline’s flights to and from Jeju remain normal, but services tomorrow may be subject to delay or cancellation. An update will be issued once more information becomes available.

Those booked onto the above cancelled flights will be protected to the KA318/KA319 services on Wednesday, 29 August. Passengers are encouraged to postpone non-essential travel. The airline has waived rebooking and re-routing charges for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) on or before 28 August for travel on Dragonair to or from Busan on 28 August.

The bad weather resulting from Severe Typhoon Bolaven is also expected to have an impact on operations at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. As a result, two flights from Hong Kong today - KA896 (departure 4:05pm) and KA872 (departure 6:00pm) - have been cancelled. Two flights departing from Shanghai - KA897 (departure 7:35pm) today and KA857 (departure 7:40 am) tomorrow - are also cancelled. Passengers booked on these flights will be protected to other flights to and from Shanghai.

Passengers are advised to check the latest flight information on the airline’s website www.dragonair.com before departing for the airport. They are also advised to review booking changes and update their contact details for receiving the latest flight status updates via SMS or email in “Manage My Booking”. The airline will assist with alternative arrangements for affected passengers.

Dragonair continues to monitor the situation closely and will issue further updates once more information becomes available. The airline regrets any inconvenience this may cause and hopes for passengers’ understanding.
