(HONG KONG) There is nothing quite like a personal recommendation when it comes to travel, and Dragonair’s ‘Travel China in Style’ Campaign, which promotes Mainland China as a chic, trendy leisure destination, encouraged people to share their top tips on visiting the Mainland in its recent travel tip contest. The contest included highly interactive customer engagement activities through a dedicated minisite - www.dragonair.com/travelchina.
The travel tip contest proved to be immensely popular and garnered good response from the public. Hundreds of travel tip entries were received and thousands of votes were cast for favourite tips in the past months. People shared their unique insights on travelling in various parts of Mainland China for a chance to win air tickets and hotel packages.
The stylish travel tip of a leisurely boat ride along the Suzhou River has won Ms Connie Kwok the Grand Prize of a luxurious Business Class holiday package to Beijing for two. Her eloquent tip mentioned that travellers would find themselves immersed in one of the ink paintings by Master Wu Guanzhong. She recommended renting a bike and riding around the temples and gardens, visiting the chic shops along Pingjiang Road and the exquisite Hotel Soul, a boutique hotel.
The first runner-up winning tip went to the Mulan Hunting Ground in Beijing, popular with photographers as it offers an evocative scene of hundreds of galloping horses, with the sound of thundering hooves and dust swirling around them. The second runner-up advised visiting the Xixi Wetland Park in Hangzhou, for its rejuvenating serenity and natural beauty.
Summing up the campaign, Manager Marketing Communications Grace Cheung, said, “Overall, we believe that the ‘Travel China in Style’ campaign has been a great success and we engaged the general public in many ways. By inviting the public to share their favourite China travelling tips on our website, we hope to rejuvenate the China travelling experience as a chic and trendy destination, so people will return again and again and enjoy different activities each time.”
All the winning travel tips and submitted entries can be viewed on ‘Travel China in Style’ minisite - www.dragonair.com/travelchina until 30 September. The winning tips and other selected entries will also be published in a travel book, available in late August.
