Terms & Conditions for Preflight Purchase of the “Beyond Duty Free Collection – Fabulous Sweetie & Pure Luxury”



Cathay Pacific is proud to present the “Beyond Duty Free Collection – Fabulous Sweetie & Pure Luxury” – a selection of diamond watches and necklaces by Links of London and Folli Follie. Please read these terms and conditions of sale carefully as they contain terms which will be binding upon you when you place an order.

By placing an order on this Preflight Order web-site or via contacting preflightorder@cathaypacific.com, you are making an offer which, if accepted by Cathay Pacific Airways Limited ("Cathay Pacific"), will constitute a binding agreement between you and Cathay Pacific.

  1. Purchase


    1. All "Beyond Duty Free Collection" items are subject to availability. In the event that your ordered items are not available Cathay Pacific will:
      1. notify you and no payment will be taken; or
      2. if we have already taken payment from you, notify you and credit back the sum that we have taken.
    2. For purchase of “Beyond Duty Free Collection” to be collected inflight, each passenger is entitled to purchase one item only. Also, you are required to ensure that the purchases meet the duty free allowances and the security requirements of your destination country. Information regarding duty-free allowance for various destinations can be found on our web-site www.cathaypacific.com/dutyfree. Although we endeavour to ensure that this information is kept up-to-date, the allowances could change without prior notification.
    3. Payment will be charged in either Hong Kong dollar (HKD) or U.S. dollar (USD), depending on the payment method.
    4. Credit card purchase will be charged in Hong Kong dollar (HKD). Payment will be debited from your credit card upon confirmation. A notification email will be sent to you within 24 hours.
    5. Once the on-line transaction has been completed, the payment is non-refundable and the purchased item is non-exchangeable.
    6. Asia Miles can be earned through on-line purchase and details are as follows:




    7. Asia Miles earned shall be calculated based on the Hong Kong dollar amount printed on the sales invoice.
    8. Benefits apply to Basic Card members only when effecting payment with The American Express Cathay Pacific Credit Card or The American Express Cathay Pacific Elite Credit Card.
    9. Preflight order promotions or discounts are not applicable to the "Beyond Duty Free Collection".


  2. Inflight Collection

    1. The watches and necklaces (except those that are made to order) are available for inflight collection on all Cathay Pacific operated flights departing Hong Kong from 4th October 2009 to 21st January 2010 inclusive, and within 4 - 21 days from the date of on-line purchase.
    2. For items that are made to order, delivery will take place 90 days after order placement. You will be contacted for inflight collection arrangement when the item is ready for delivery.
    3. Any changes to your itinerary subsequent to the on-line purchase will not be reflected in your Preflight Purchase record and it shall be your responsibility to email preflightorder@cathaypacific.com stating your Preflight Sales Reference Number and your revised itinerary. Please also note that the revised departure date needs to be in the timeframe of 4 - 21 days from the date of amendment. In this respect, Cathay Pacific shall not be liable for any delayed or delivery failure of the "Beyond Duty Free Collection" item on board or any loss or damage directly or indirectly suffered or incurred arising from your failure to notify Cathay Pacific of any changes to your itinerary in accordance with this Clause 12.
    4. Exceptional circumstances such as flight disruption, aircraft rotation and operational requirements etc may hamper the delivery of the item on board your selected flight. Should you fail to receive the product on your selected flight, please contact preflightorder@cathaypacific.com for follow-up arrangement.
    5. To ensure the item will be delivered on your selected flight, Cathay Pacific will contact you and re-confirm your flight itinerary one day before the departure.
    6. Travel document validation is required upon receiving your order on board. The travel document number and the citizenship shown on the passport must match with the details you provided to us during on-line transaction.
    7. You are required to sign on the Product Delivery Form upon receiving your order on board, and the signature must match with that shown on your passport. By signing this form, you confirm receipt and accept the condition of the product, and the governed terms and conditions.


  3. Hong Kong Home Delivery

    2. Upon completion of a successful transaction, the order will be dispatched within 14 working days, except for those items that are made to order. Whilst every effort is made to deliver the items in accordance with the time-line set out, we do not bear any liability for late delivery of the items.
    3. For items that are made to order, delivery will take place 90 days after order placement. You will be contacted for home delivery arrangement when the item is ready for delivery.
    4. A confirmation letter will be sent to you via email or post upon completion of a successful transaction and please contact us at preflightorder@cathaypacific.com to acknowledge the receipt. Please note that this letter is treated as a proof of your purchase and you are required to present to the courier for verification upon collection of the delivery. Cathay Pacific and the courier reserve the right to decline the delivery should you fail to present the confirmation letter to the courier.
    5. You are required to sign on a delivery form upon receiving your order, and the signature must match with that shown on your passport. By signing this form, you confirm receipt of the product and accept the condition, and the governed terms and conditions.


  4. Warranty

      2. *You will be required to present the proof of purchase (i.e. confirmation letter sent to you upon completion of successful transaction) upon claiming the warranty.


  5. Liability

    1. Illustrations shown on our web-site (www.cathaypacific.com/dutyfree) and on the Discover the Shop magazine do not necessarily show the actual size of the items. Cathay Pacific does not guarantee that the product description, price, and other content on our web-site and Discover the Shop magazine are complete, accurate, reliable, current, or error-free.
    2. Under no circumstances should Cathay Pacific be liable for any damage caused by any product or failure of such product to perform, whether or not advised of the possibility of such damage, and regardless of the theory of liability pursuant to which such damage may be sought.
    3. By using Cathay Pacific's Preflight Order web-site, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password, as well as restricting access to your computer, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password.
    4. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cathay Pacific is not liable to you or any third party for loss or damage however caused which may be directly or indirectly suffered in connection with use of this web-site including but not limited to any purchases of "Beyond Duty Free Collection" items. Cathay Pacific further disclaims any liability for any special, indirect or consequential damages (including, but not limited to loss of revenue and loss of or damage to data) suffered or incurred with the use of this web-site for purchasing any of the "Beyond Duty Free Collection" items.


  6. Governing Law

    1. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the parties hereby submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.


  7. Other Terms & Conditions of Sale

    1. These terms and conditions refer only to your purchase of "Beyond Duty Free Collection" items and separate terms and conditions apply to any purchases or orders of other Cathay Pacific goods and services (that are not part of the "Beyond Duty Free Collection").
