Subject to availability, a stretcher may be provided by Cathay Pacific on request. In order to determine if a stretcher will be available for your flight and arrange for medical clearance and uplift of the stretcher, please contact our reservations office as long in advance as possible, but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight.
We strongly encourage passengers travelling in a stretcher to complete a MEDA Form and note that passengers travelling in a stretcher must travel with an escort who is capable of attending to the passenger’s medical needs and assisting them to the exit in event of an emergency evacuation. Once completed, please return a copy of the MEDA form to your local Reservation office. We ask that you retain the original and bring it with you for your flight(s). Because of the time required to process the MEDA form through our Medical Office and the possibility that our Medical Office may request clarifying or additional information from you, we highly recommend that passengers request a stretcher and provide a completed MEDA form at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight. Requests for stretchers made with less than 48 hours advance notice may not be able to be processed in time.
Please also note that we need advance notice of any Medical Electronic Equipment that will be used during the flight.
Passengers travelling in a stretcher will be charged an additional fee to cover the additional costs associated with this service. Please contact our reservations office directly to obtain specific pricing information for your flight. Please note that this charge shall not include:
(i) the costs of ambulance, hospitalization and other ground expense or
(ii) the ticket(s) or expenses of travelling attendant(s).
