In compliance with the new baggage policy issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), free baggage allowance and extra baggage charges for tickets issued on or after 1 April 2011 which involve one or more flights provided by other airlines (excluding Dragonair and Cathay Pacific) will be based on a new method. Except as otherwise set out below, if your journey includes connecting flights with more than one airline, the baggage allowances and fees of the airline that operates the longer leg of the itinerary will apply throughout the itinerary. For example, if you fly a transpacific leg with one carrier and a domestic leg with another, the baggage allowances and fees of the carrier that operated the transpacific leg would apply to the whole journey, regardless of which carrier issued the ticket. Please contact your travel agent or local reservations office for more details.
When travelling on a codeshare flight operated by our codeshare partner to/from a port outside of the US, the operating carrier's baggage policy may apply (except for flights of CX9200/CX9201 and QR5800/QR5801, where marketing carrier’s baggage policy applies). For details, please visit the respective carrier’s website.
When your journey’s origin, destination or furthest point is the US and the flights are operated by our codeshare partners, the marketing carrier’s baggage policy applies. For details, please visit the marketing carrier's website.
If your entire journey is with Cathay Pacific, our baggage allowances and fees will apply.
If your entire journey is with one of our airline partners, the baggage allowance and fees of the partner airline will apply.
Cathay Pacific codeshare flights operated by other airlines may provide free allowance or extra baggage charges that are different from Cathay Pacific's. For details of their checked baggage allowances, please follow the links below:
For other airlines, please refer to their websites or contact them directly.
