Cathay Pacific supports and invests in the Hong Kong community of which it has been a part for almost seven decades. In addition to making major contributions to Hong Kong's economy through its investments in people and infrastructure, Cathay Pacific is also actively involved in a variety of community initiatives under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) banner.

Leveraging the uniqueness of the airline business, Cathay Pacific aligns the resources of the company with the needs of communities, motivating its staff to serve the community in different areas through the Cathay Pacific Volunteers corporate volunteer team.

The airline’s initiatives focus mainly on youth education and the environment. Cathay Pacific has run a number of community programmes and has made a wide range of charitable donations, providing charities with flight tickets, other in-kind donations and professional advice.

Cathay Pacific has been awarded the Caring Company Logo every year since the Caring Company Scheme was launched by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in 2003. The airline won the top honour, the Total Caring Award, in 2010, while 2014 marked the third consecutive year for the airline to receive the 10 Years Plus Caring Company Logo for its continued efforts in caring for the well-being of the community, its employees and the environment.
