As part of our commitment to provide credible offsets, we regularly add to our inventory of carbon offsets as the previous year's supply is retired. We carefully evaluate the sustainability impacts of all our projects and give preference to projects where we have major operations - such as in China. Apart from producing real, quantifiable, and permanent reductions in carbon emissions, we strive to select projects that provide added social and environmental benefits.

All projects are rigorously vetted and regularly scrutinised to ensure that they meet our high quality standards, ensuring that they result in real, quantifiable and permanent reductions in greenhouse gas emissions that go beyond the business-as-usual scenario. As a minimum, all our projects are verified in accordance with the Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS).

Below are our current projects:

Chaonan-Shalong-wind-project
  1. Guangdong Chaonan Shalong wind project

    Located near the city of Shantou, Guangdong, clean energy generated from the wind farm, consisting of 66 turbines with a total installed capacity of 49.5 MW, is supplied to the Southern China Power Grid. The project reduces about 90,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually and limits local air pollution, curtailing its negative health impacts. This project has created a number of additional jobs in the region. Furthermore, it has helped to build domestic capacity in the construction, operation and maintenance of wind farms.
Lankou-hydropower-project
  1. Guangdong Lankou hydropower project

    Consisting of three turbines of 26 MW total installed capacity, the “run-of-river” hydropower station generates clean energy for the Southern China Power Grid. The project reduces about 70,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually and contributes to better air quality in the local area. Local employment opportunities have increased from the availability of a clean and stable power supply.
