Oxygen for therapeutic or medical purposes is available on Cathay Pacific flights in cylinders provided by us free of charge. For safety reasons, oxygen cylinders brought by passengers themselves may not be carried or used on board our flights.
For all requests of inflight medical oxygen we require advance notice of at least 72 hours before the scheduled departure time of your intended flight.
Passengers also need to a complete a MEDA form. Your physician should specify the litres-per-minute flow rate required. Once completed, please return the MEDA form to your local Cathay Pacific Reservation office. In order to have the best preparation and avoid any possible delays, the MEDA form must reach our Medical Office through Reservations as early as possible with no less than 48 hours prior to scheduled flight departure time. We ask that you retain the original of the form with you during your flight(s).
We may transport your personal oxygen equipment in the cargo hold as long as it is packed and labeled in accordance with our regulations. Oxygen equipment filled with gas must be packed in accordance with "Dangerous Goods" regulations. For further information on the packing and labeling requirements and details on arranging the carriage of your oxygen, please contact our Reservations office.
Passengers may also bring and use their own Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC’s) on board. For more information on our acceptance policy for POC’s, please read the information in Passengers Travelling with Electronic Medical Devices.
