The Cathay Pacific China Trader Award is presented annually to a Dutch company in recognition of this company’s successes over the preceding 2 years in China and/or Hong Kong. The winning company must have distinguished itself from its competitors through innovation, creativity, profitability and corporate sustainability and must have managed not only to survive, but to thrive in the complex and constantly changing Chinese market. In 2008, Boon Edam was the winner of the prestigious award.

For China Trader Award 2009, we can announce the following nominees (in alphabetical order): AMS Group BV, Northernlight and Yourzine.

During the festive award ceremony on 11 November at Country Estate Duin & Kruidberg in Santpoort, the award winner will be announced. The Lifetime Achievement Award which is presented occasionally will be received by Mr. W. Vos, former owner of Transmaritime Freight Agencies. Mr. Vos played an important role for the trade between the Netherlands and China. This year the Hong Kong Shooting Star Award will be presented to ID DSGN. ID DSGN is a design & trading company of innovative kid’s products as well as interior products. The Hong Kong Shootingstar is yearly awarded to a young Dutch enterprise operating from Hong Kong.

The China Trader Award is organised annually by Cathay Pacific Airways and its partners of the Netherlands Council for Trade Promotion and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. This years sponsor include ABN AMRO, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
