Mobile Check-In

1. What is Mobile Check-In?

Mobile Check-In allows you to check in using any mobile device with Internet browsing capability for Cathay Pacific, Dragonair and any eligible onward flights any time anywhere 48 hours up to 90 minutes prior to flight departure

2. Who can use Mobile Check-In?

Mobile Check-In is available to passengers holding eTickets issued by Cathay Pacific Airways or Dragonair and their companion passengers travelling under the same booking. Exceptions are passengers who:

  • Require Medical Assistance
  • Are Unaccompanied Minors
  • Travel in a group and are registered as a group in the booking
  • Need to tender additional payment for their ticket.

3. What type of mobile device can access Mobile Check-In?

Any mobile device equipped with internet browsing capability can access Mobile Check-In. Make sure that your mobile plan includes mobile internet browsing as well as text messaging if you want to receive Check-In Confirmation via SMS and/or email.

4. What should I do to make Mobile Check-In?

Simply follow the steps below for checking in on a mobile device

Open your web browser on an Internet-enabled mobile device and type m.cathaypacific.com or m.dragonair.com. Select and click on "Check-In" link.
Marco Polo Club / Asia Miles members can log in under "Personal Itinerary" section to check in
Step 1: Retrieve flight details: Members can enter membership number and password to log in Mobile Check-In. Non-members can enter their name, flight number and departure date in order to retrieve their flight details
Step 2: Select seat for yourself and your travel companions
Step 3: Enter your travel document details as required by Immigration Authorities and your contact information
Step 4: Confirm and view your Check-In Confirmation with the barcode.
You can choose to save your Check-In Confirmation on your mobile device or send it to your mobile device via SMS or email

5. Is Mobile Check-In available for all Cathay Pacific and Dragonair flights?

Mobile Check-In is available for

  • Cathay Pacific: All Cathay Pacific flights, including codeshare flights operated by Dragonair (with conditions listed in statement 2 below). Exceptions are chartered flights, codeshare flights and trains operated by our partner carriers.
  • Dragonair: All Dragonair flights and codeshare flights operated by Cathay Pacific departing from Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Taichung, Busan, Fukuoka, Phuket, Dhaka, Bengaluru (Bangalore), Kota Kinabalu, Hanoi, Manila and Phnom Penh. Exceptions are codeshare flights operated by our partner carriers.

6. When can I check in for my flights on mobile?

Same as Online Check-In, all passengers holding eTickets can check in on their mobile device 48 hours up to 90 minutes prior to flight departure.

7. Can I check in my infants or my companion on mobile under the same booking?

Yes, you can select and check in with infants and companion during Mobile Check-In.

8. What languages are available for Mobile Check-In?

Mobile Check-In is currently available in English, Traditional/Simplified Chinese, Korean and French.

9. Is there a way to save my Mobile Check-In Confirmation?

At the end of checking in on mobile, you can choose to save the Check-in Confirmation or choose to receive Check-In Confirmation via SMS and/or email.

If you enter mobile number or email, you will receive a text message or email with a link to the web page containing the barcode. If you want to send the confirmation to a Japan mobile device, you can select to receive it by email only.

10. Which countries/territories can support Check-In Confirmation via SMS?

This service is currently available to mobile phone users in more than 30 countries / territories including: Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Luxembourg, Macau, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, UK, USA and Vietnam.

*We currently cannot send Check-In Confirmation via SMS to a Japan mobile device. In this case, please select to receive this confirmation through email by entering your email address.

11. Do I still need a Boarding Pass?

Yes, you must collect your boarding pass before you proceed to Security and Immigration.

12. Where can I collect my boarding pass?

You can pick up your boarding pass by

  1. Scanning the barcode on your Check-In Confirmation at our Self Check-In Kiosk if your departing airport has one
  2. Showing this confirmation on mobile at Self Check-In Bag Drop counters

13. Can I cancel my check-in on mobile after receiving the mobile confirmation?

Yes, you can cancel your check-in up to 90 minutes prior to departure if you have checked in online or on your mobile.

14. Why can't I see a barcode on my confirmation page at the end of Mobile Check-In?

Currently, passengers holding a ticket of certain fare types, such as Child/Infant; passengers having requested for special services may be required to present in person at the counter before boarding pass can be issued to them. Such passengers will be able to check in but will not see a barcode on their Check-In Confirmation.
