Travel Advice for Bangkok
CATHAY PACIFIC TO RESUME SERVICES TO BANGKOK ON FRIDAY
Cathay Pacific announced today that it will resume its flights to Bangkok on Friday, 5 December. The airline will operate four flights from Hong Kong to Bangkok and three flights from Bangkok to Hong Kong daily on Friday and Saturday, 5 and 6 December.
In light of the resumption of its service between Hong Kong and Bangkok, Cathay Pacific announced that the special flight it is operating on Friday to and from Utapao Airport, south of Bangkok, will instead operate to and from Bangkok. Arrangements will be made for passengers already booked on this special flight to return to Hong Kong on one of the airline’s flights from Bangkok.

For all three Friday flights back to Hong Kong from Bangkok, there will be no additional charge for those holding valid Cathay Pacific tickets. The fare for other travellers is HK$1,100, THB 5,000 or US$143 for the one-way journey. Flights departing from Hong Kong to Bangkok are now open for booking at the prevailing market fare.
Market fare will apply for all flights to and from Bangkok from 6 December Saturday onwards.
Passengers are advised to check the latest flight details at www.cathaypacific.com as services may still be subject to adjustment. Travellers without confirmed bookings on these Bangkok flights are advised not to go to the airport. Online Check-In and In-Town Check-In facilities are available for flights departing from Hong Kong only. There will be no Online Check-In available for departures from Bangkok and passengers are advised to check the airline’s website, www.cathaypacific.com, or call Bangkok Reservations at 02-2630606 before going to the airport.
Details of flights for Sunday and beyond will be announced in due course.
Since the closure of Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, Cathay Pacific has been operating a daily special flight to Utapao Airport to help bring stranded passengers back to Hong Kong. Including the final flight tomorrow (4 December) Cathay Pacific will have operated seven special flights to Utapao to help bring some 2,800 travellers back to Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific also operated a charter flight for the Hong Kong Government on 1 December.
Special ticketing arrangement
As a result to the current situation in Thailand, with immediate effect, all rebooking / rerouting charges will be waived for all tickets issued from North America (of all fare types) on or before 25 November 2008 for travel involving Bangkok between 25 November and 15 December 2008.

a. Cancellation / Refund --
Cancellation refund charges will be waived provided such request are made on/beore 15Dec08 for travel involving Bangkok until 15Dec08.
b. Rerouting / Rebooking --
Rerouting / Rebooking charges will be waived on conditions that:

Such requests are made on/before 15 December 2008 and before departure, for travel involving Bangkok between 26 November and 15 December 2008. Passenger who does not show up is not eligible for the waiver.

Subject to flight availability, revised (new) travel date must be on/before 26Feb09. The ticket expiry date will therefore be adjusted accordingly.

The newly rebooked sector must observe and conform to the conditions of the respective fare rule, such as black out dates, flight application, weekend/weekday travel, stopover charges, and applicable seasonalities.

Re-issuance charges will only be waived in reference to the expiry date of the original ticket.
