Buses Operation Dammam-Bahrain-Dammam
Cathay Pacific provides a bus service for Economy Class passengers to transport passengers travelling to Dammam via Bahrain and v.v. through King Fahad Causeway. Private cars are provided to Business Class passengers. Only passengers travelling on the Hong Kong - Bahrain - Hong Kong routes can avail of this bus service.
On 26th November 1986 , the causeway was inaugurated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques late King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, the monarch of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and late HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman, the Amir of the State of Bahrain the latter was pleased to have the causeway named King Fahd Causeway.The causeway is twenty-five kilometres in length. The Saudi portion begins at Al-‘Aziziyyah located south of Al-Khobar City and the Bahrain portion of the causeway begins right from Al-Jasra west of Manama.
Roads linking the causeway and the inland road network in both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain were constructed at the length of (32) kilometres up to Al Khobar and Dhahran City and at the length of (13) kilometres up to Manama City.
