The Wing

The Wing - The World’s Most Exclusive Balcony
The Wing is Cathay Pacific’s flagship lounge at the Hong Kong International Airport. It set a new standard in airline ground service when it launched in 1998, offering passengers unparalleled levels of comfort and convenience.
With a vision to elevate the passenger experience to the next level, Cathay Pacific commissioned world-renowned Foster + Partners to redesign The Wing and embarked on a complete renovation of its signature lounge in late-2010. The renovation is carried out over 3 phases to ensure that passengers continue to enjoy full utility.
The first phase of the renovations at The Wing Level 6 Business Class Lounge was completed in April 2011. The second phase of the renovations - Business Class Lounge at Level 7 (balcony level) has also been completed and reopened with a new look. The final phase of the renovation at First Class Lounge will be commenced in spring 2012.

Business Class Lounge

The new Wing is designed by London based architects Foster + Partners and continues the design language first seen in The Cabin. Building on the material palette from the original Wing and The Cabin, the new space features a palate of warm woods, White Carrara marble, “Belgium Black” marble and “China Black” granite. The original minimalist design is enhanced by contemporary and refreshing elements intended to re-establish The Wing as the best airport lounge in the world. Inside this exclusive space, passengers have the freedom to recharge, relax, or catch up on some work.
The furniture featured in The Wing comes from some of the world’s best craftsmen. These contemporary pieces are complemented by Cathay Pacific’s unique Solus Chair which was designed by Cathay Pacific and Foster + Partners around the needs of the single traveller and is handcrafted by Poltrona Frau in Italy.
Level 6 (lower level) Business Class Lounge
The Level 6 Business Class Lounge, a cozy and familiar space for most of our passenger re-opened in April 2011 with newly introduced facilities. It features IT facilities with 6 fully equipped IT workstations as well as high speed Wifi service. The new Lounge will also offer a wide range of seating including 38 comfortable sofas and 9 exclusive Cathay Solus Chairs.
The self served buffet counter, fully enveloped with white Carrara marble, offers four selections of Asian and Western hot dishes along with a selection of cold food. The lower level also features a total of 24 luxurious shower suites lined with Travertine stone and warm bamboo wood.
Level 7 (balcony level) Business Class Lounge

The Noodle Bar and The Long Bar remain the iconic features of The Wing. Passengers can relax and enjoy a bowl of freshly made noodles with a selection of Chinese style Bao in The Noodle Bar under an open ceiling space that allows ample sunlight for the natural live bamboo. Or explore more international fare at the new self-serve buffet counters, which offer a variety of Asian and Western hot dishes along with a selection of cold dishes.
Experience a drink at The Long Bar that has been expanded and retransformed with an Italian white marble finish that forms the 23 metres feature overlooking the airport and runway.
The newly-introduced Coffee Loft provides a relaxing environment where passengers can enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee and pastries baked on the premises. A wide range of international newspapers and magazines are available for passengers to help while away the time.
The number and choices in seating has been significantly improved in this new lounge. In additional to the well received exclusive Cathay Solus Chair, a wide range of seating including sofas, armchairs and bar stools in various configuration are available to suit our passenger’s need.
