Wine and Dine

Midnight snacks on long-haul flights

We keep our galleys stocked full with a variety of tasty treats, from noodles and sandwiches to ice cream. So the next time you wake up in the middle of a flight, don’t go hungry.

Snack items may vary according to season, route and flight class.

Made Fresh to Order

wine_dine_meal03We are among the first airlines to have put rice cookers, toasters and skillets on board, enabling our flight attendants to prepare freshly cooked rice, toast and eggs. First Class passengers can now go à la carte and choose their own meals and dine anytime they wish. Hmm, how about having fried eggs, sunny-side up?

Red or White?

Due to special climate controls inside the cabin, the best wines in the air are often those that are more robust in flavour. We carry a range of 40 quality wines on board – from rare wines produced in France and Italy to wines from the New World including South Africa, Australia, the United States and New Zealand and of course, we only offer you the top picks.

Vieux Chateau Landon 2002
Situated in Medoc, Vieux Chateau Landon is a small Chateau which has a very limited production every year. A large portion of its production is served exclusively on Cathay Pacific. The 2002 vintage is a full-bodied wine with complex notes of red fruits, spices, coffee, chocolate, and a touch of vanilla. In addition, it is well-integrated with tannins from ripe fruits. This delicious wine goes well with most of the meat dishes.

Chateau Branaire Ducru 1998 – Grand Cru Classé Saint- Julien 4th Growth
Chateau Branaire-Ducru, an elegant Grand Cru wine from Saint Julien of Haut Medoc, Bordeaux, offers beautiful floral, raspberry and ripe black cherry characters with a mineral note and well-integrated fine tannins. The 1998 Chateau Branaire-Ducru is made with a higher proportion of Merlot grapes than the other vintages, making the wine very delicate and fleshy. It goes perfectly well with all kinds of red meat and stewed dishes.

Climbing Chardonnay 2005
The 2005 Climbing Chardonnay was made from the grapes grown in Orange, New South Wales, Australia. This area with its cool climate produces rich and fresh Chardonnay, offering special flavours of citrus and nectarine fruits. The buttery notes from the French oak add complexity to the wine. This is an exquisite wine with a long finish. It goes perfectly well with seafood dishes.

Onboard our flights since 2005, we’ve served around 1.3 million bottles of wines, used up almost 82 tonnes of coffee, and 27 tonnes of tea bags! Nothing beats good wine with your meal, and a coffee or tea to round it up.

Freshly Brewed for You

For those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks on our flights, we offer fresh Espresso, Cafe Latté and Cappuccino on most of our flights. We also provide Chinese tea in all travel classes to strike a perfect finale to your meal.
