There are several stages in our selection process. After the initial screening, short-listed candidates are invited to attend a series of interviews and tests that will examine such areas as aptitude, English, mathematics, and personality, as well as a thorough medical examination. Candidates who score well are offered an all-expenses paid trip to Adelaide, Australia for flight grading, during which the candidate's flying potential and skills will be assessed.
Upon completion of the selection process, those cadet applicants that are deemed suitable will be offered a full-time residential course at Flight Training Adelaide in Australia - again, at our expense. The appropriate stream that each cadet will be allocated is determined by a combination of the cadet's prior aviation experience and flight grading performance. Training consists of technical ground school and flight training. All programmes introduce jet aircraft operations, multi-crew operations, safety standards, efficient operations, passenger considerations and flight operation disciplines.
A Hong Kong Commercial Pilot's Licence will be issued on successful completion of the course to a satisfactory standard and passes in all necessary examinations. A Hong Kong Airline Transport Pilot's Licence will be issued upon completion of the actual flying required for the issue of such a licence.
