Infants

All our aircraft are equipped with special baby bassinets and packs, as well as a wide range of baby food. Each has at least two toilets with special fold-down tables for changing diapers.

Acceptance

A healthy newborn infant is ready to travel with us after the first week of delivery. When 1 infant is travelling with 1 adult passenger, the infant is required to pay infant fare. However, in the case of 1 adult passenger travelling with 2 infants (1 of the infants must be at least 6 months old), 1 of the infants must pay the applicable child fare. In addition to paying for an extra seat, passengers should also bring their own car seat, which must comply with Cathay Pacific approved specifications.

Special arrangement in the new Business Class*- No baby car seat can be used in the new Business Class Due to safety and regulatory requirements, no baby car seat can be used in the new Business Class * The new Business Class will be progressively introduced in B744, A340, A330 and B777-300ER Infant acceptance in the new Business Class* As baby car seats cannot be used in the new Business Class, only one infant who is under 2 years of age and does not occupy a seat can be accepted when traveling with 1 adult passenger * The new Business Class will be progressively introduced in B744, A340, A330 and B777-300ER

Bassinet

All our aircraft are equipped with special baby bassinets. A bassinet measures 76.20cm (30") x 38.10cm (15") x 20.32cm (8") and can carry up to 12kgs. Please note however a baby older than 6 months may feel uncomfortable in a bassinet.

A request for a baby bassinet (BSCT) can be made at time of reservation if passenger is travelling with an infant.

Car Seat

Personal infant car seat is accepted on board if it complies with the following requirements:

• Forward facing
• Designed for carrying an infant inclusively between the age of 6 months and 3 years, and weighs 18kgs or less
• Must be in operational condition

Junior VIPS

We believe that for children flying with us, it should be a fun and memorable experience. That's why all kids on board will be offered a colourful backpack*. Inside the pack (which children can take home with them) are all kinds of goodies, including stationery, games and activity books.

And the fun even extends to food -- we serve children's meals with colourful cutlery! Special infant and junior meals are also available for very young children and toddlers.

* Not applicable to flights from / to Taipei, Manila and Xiamen

Unaccompanied Children and Minors

We will look after children, aged between 6 and 12 years, who are not travelling with an adult* -- both inflight and in transit. If more than six children are scheduled to travel alone, we will arrange a trained and fully qualified "Flying Guardian" to accompany them. Airfares for children on Unaccompanied Minor Service might differ from those travelling with adult companions. Please contact our Ticketing Office or your travel agent for more details. Surcharge for Unaccompanied Minor Service is as follows (Per Sector Basis):

• Between Hong Kong and all destinations in Africa, Europe, Middle East, North America, South Asia Subcontinent and Southwest Pacific: HKD400 / USD50
• Between Bangkok and Dubai: HKD400 / USD50
• Other routes: HKD160 / USD20

* An adult is a person above 16 years of age and not incapacitated
