Weight system - For all locations except Americas


Golfing equipment
  Consisting of one golf bag and one pair of golf shoes. The golfing equipment can be included in the free checked baggage allowance. If the total is over the free checked baggage allowance, equipment up to 15 kg (33lbs) will be assessed at a special excess baggage charge equivalent to 6 kg of the applicable excess baggage rate.

Note: Only one set of golfing equipment per passenger is applicable to this special rate.

Surfboarding / windsurfing equipment
  Surfboarding / windsurfing equipment will not be included in the free Checked Baggage Allowance; the equipment will be assessed as follows:

  • One board NOT exceeding 277cm (109in) - charged at the applicable rate for 5kg (11lbs) of excess baggage, or
  • One board exceeding 277cm (109in) - charged at the applicable rate of 8kg (17.6lbs) of excess baggage.
Note: Only one set of surfboarding / windsurfing equipment per passenger is entitled to the special rate; any additional board(s) will be charged at the applicable excess charges.
  EXCEPTION: Passengers travelling to, from and within South West Pacific (Australia & New Zealand) regardless of carriers, surfboarding equipment is part of the baggage allowance. Normal excess baggage rates apply if allowance is exceeded.

Snow / water skiing equipment
  Consisting of:

  • One pair of skis, one pair of ski poles, one pair of boots, or
  • One snow board, one pair of boots, or
  • One pair of standard water skis or slalom water ski.
If over the free Checked Baggage Allowance, equipment will be assessed at a special excess baggage rate equivalent to 3kg (6.6lbs) of the applicable excess baggage rate.

Note: Only one set of skiing equipment per passenger is applicable to this special rate.

Bicycles
  A bicycle can be accepted as checked baggage, provided that the following requirements are met:

  • Non-motorised touring / racing single-seat bicycle;
  • Handlebars are fixed and tightened sideways, parallel to the frame, or enclosed in plastic foam or similar material;
  • Pedals are removed or fixed inwards, or enclosed in plastic foam or similar material;
  • Tyres are deflated;
  • The bicycle is suitably packed in a strong and protective case, or recognised bicycle box or bag
Normal excess baggage charges apply.


Piece system - For Central, North and South Americas


Golfing equipment
  50% of the applicable unit charge if in excess of the free Checked Baggage Allowance.

Note: Only one set of golfing equipment will be entitled to the special rate; any additional set(s) will be charged at the applicable excess charges.

Snow / water skiing equipment
  33% of the applicable unit charge if in excess of the free checked baggage allowance.

Note: Only one set of skiing equipment will be entitled to the special rate; any additional set(s) will be charged at the applicable excess charges.

Surfboarding / windsurfing equipment
  Surfboarding equipment / windsurfing equipment will not be included in the free checked baggage allowance and will be assessed as follows:

  • 50% of the applicable unit charge if not exceeding 277cm / 109in
    or
  • 100% of the applicable unit charge if exceeding 277cm / 109in
Note: Only one set of surfboarding / windsurfing equipment per passenger will be entitled to the 50% special rate; any additional board(s) will be charged at the applicable excess charges.


Bicycles
  A bicycle can be accepted as checked baggage, provided that the following requirements are met:
