Extra-legroom Seat Bookings

1. How do I book an Extra-legroom Seat?

Passengers can book an Extra-legroom Seat by calling our local reservations after ticket issuance, up to 24 hours before flight departure, or when checking in at our counters*. Online booking for an Extra-legroom Seat will soon be available.

Extra-legroom Seats are assigned for an additional charge to eligible passengers on a first-come, first-served basis on flights operated by Cathay Pacific Airways and Dragonair.

*excluding check-in at “Self Check-In Kiosks”

2. What requirements do I need to fulfil in order to occupy an Extra-legroom Seat?

3. If a passenger is found not meeting the requirements to sit on an Extra-legroom Seat at check-in, will there be a refund?

Cathay Pacific Airways and Dragonair have the sole discretion, at check-in or boarding, to determine whether a passenger meets the requirements to sit on an Extra-legroom Seat If he or she does not meet any one of the stated safety requirements, Cathay Pacific may re-assign a regular Economy seat before or during the journey without refund of the Extra-legroom Seat reservation fees.

4. Can I pick my preferred Extra-legroom Seat?

Yes. Seat maps are available on What’s onboard > Our fleet
An Extra-legroom Seat is assigned only upon full payment of the Extra-legroom Seat fees and fare.

5. Do I earn mileage if I book an Extra-legroom Seat?

No mileage points are rewarded for the amount paid for an Extra-legroom Seat.

6. Do I get a refund if I change my booking?

There will be no refund of the Extra-legroom Seat fees if, in accordance with the fare rules of your ticket, you choose to move to a different flight, cancel your flight or make other voluntary flight changes.

7. What is the refund policy for an Extra-legroom Seat?

The Extra-legroom Seat is non-transferrable and non-refundable.

In the following exceptions, Cathay Pacific Airways will refund you if the Extra-legroom Seat is not utilised: the flight is disrupted

  • the flight is cancelled by Cathay Pacific Airways/Dragonair
  • the connecting flight is missed because of flight re-timing of an inbound/outbound Cathay Pacific Airways/Dragonair-operated flight
  • if Extra-legroom Seat is not available when you move to a different flight.
The refund will be USD100 or USD25 or equivalent in local currency, as full and final compensation. Refund will be in the original form of payment and within 20 calendar days.
